"She bounced back after baby and I'm still 20 pounds heavier."
How it sounds in your head: She posted bikini pics six weeks postpartum while I'm hiding in oversized shirts. My husband hasn't looked at me the same since. I see other moms at the gym while I can't even find time to shower.
"Since you were precious in My sight, you have been honored, and I have loved you."
-- Isaiah 43:4Enemy using post-pregnancy body changes to attack identity and worthiness through worldly beauty standards.
Your body literally changed to grow life and the mirror shows a stranger. Every Instagram mom seems to have abs while you're still in maternity jeans months later.
Leah was 'unloved' with weak eyes while her sister was beautiful and adored by their shared husband. God opened her womb BECAUSE she was unloved - her value came from His favor, not Jacob's preference or Rachel's beauty, and she became the mother of Judah, the Messianic line.
I REFUSE the lie that my postpartum body disqualifies me from beauty or love. IT IS WRITTEN in Isaiah 43:4 that I am precious and honored in His sight. My body is fearfully and wonderfully made RIGHT NOW, stretch marks included. The BARAK blessing of Abraham doesn't require a certain dress size. IT IS WRITTEN in Song of Solomon 4:7 that I am 'altogether beautiful' - not when I lose weight, but NOW. I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus, and my Father runs toward me with the robe while I'm still covered in baby spit-up.
The Father looks at your body that grew life and calls it HONORED, not shameful. He's not waiting for you to fit pre-pregnancy jeans - He's running toward you NOW with the ring of authority and robe of beauty.
