"Secret spending by a spouse proves they never really loved me or valued our family."
How it sounds in your head: If she really cared about us, she wouldn't have hidden those purchases. Every secret transaction was a lie to my face. Real love is transparent - this betrayal proves the whole relationship was fake.
"Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things."
-- 1 Corinthians 13:7Source: Enemy's accusation that equates imperfect behavior with absence of love - the same lie he used in Eden ('If God loved you, He wouldn't restrict you').
The deception feels like proof because hurt amplifies doubt. If love were real, wouldn't it prevent lying? The breach of trust feels so deep that only absence of love could explain it.
God told Hosea to love his wife Gomer even though she was ACTIVELY COMMITTING ADULTERY and betraying him repeatedly. God said, 'Love her as the LORD loves the children of Israel, though they turn to other gods' - love wasn't based on her faithfulness but on covenant.
I REFUSE the lie that financial betrayal equals absence of love. IT IS WRITTEN that love bears all things and endures all things - love doesn't mean perfection, it means commitment THROUGH imperfection. God loved me while I was STILL A SINNER, and His love gives me capacity to love through betrayal. IT IS WRITTEN that I am blessed in my relationships as part of the BARAK covenant - the blessing of Abraham includes restoration and multiplication even after failure. The Father is pouring His supernatural love through me that doesn't depend on perfect behavior. I choose to believe all things and hope all things.
The Father is running to you saying, 'I loved you through every secret sin you tried to hide from Me - I give you that same love for them.' He's placing the robe of My-love-flowing-through-you over your shoulders, the ring of authority to forgive as you've been forgiven, and He's already prepared the fattened calf of reconciliation if you'll receive it.
