"Real spiritual people don't struggle with something as basic as sleep."
How it sounds in your head: If I was really close to God, this wouldn't be a problem. Mature Christians have peace and rest, and my insomnia proves I'm spiritually immature or doing faith wrong. I'm embarrassed to even pray about sleep when others are believing for big miracles.
"But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows."
-- Matthew 10:30-31Religion creates hierarchy where physical struggles disqualify you from being 'spiritual enough.'
You see others who seem to have it all together and assume their sleep is fine, making yours feel like evidence of spiritual inadequacy. The 'smaller' nature of the problem compared to cancer or death makes it feel unworthy of God's attention.
Experienced fishermen were TERRIFIED in a storm, woke Jesus in panic, and He asked 'Why are you fearful, O you of little faith?' - then IMMEDIATELY calmed the storm with one word. He didn't shame them for 'bothering' Him with a storm when He had more important ministry - He SOLVED it instantly.
I REFUSE the lie that my sleep struggle disqualifies me spiritually. IT IS WRITTEN that God numbers the hairs on my head - if He cares about something that insignificant, He absolutely cares about my rest. I am not 'less spiritual' for struggling with sleep - I am a beloved son whose Father cares about EVERY detail. The BARAK blessing that protected Abraham through famines, wars, and family chaos covers my sleep. IT IS WRITTEN in 1 Peter 5:7 to cast ALL anxiety on Him because He cares for me - not 'big anxieties only,' ALL. Jesus calmed a storm for scared disciples without shaming them - He doesn't roll His eyes at my sleep struggle, He speaks PEACE over it. I receive rest as my inheritance NOW, not after I achieve some spiritual maturity level.
The Father doesn't see your sleep struggle as evidence you're spiritually immature - He sees a son He wants to comfort in EVERY area. Like the prodigal received full sonship while still broken, you receive His attention for sleep while still imperfect - nothing is too small for His love.
