"Real men don't need help; I should be able to handle this alone."
How it sounds in your head: Your dad figured it out. Your grandfather built a business from nothing. Real men don't fall apart, don't need therapy, don't ask for help. Suck it up. Push through. Weakness is failure.
"Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, one will lift up his companion. But woe to him who is alone when he falls, for he has no one to help him up."
-- Ecclesiastes 4:9-10Source: World's toxic masculinity mixed with religion's 'just pray harder' individualism - the satanic isolation that kills men.
Every male role model you've seen is stoic, strong, independent. Admitting you're drowning feels like admitting you're not man enough. The guys who have it together don't broadcast struggles. Neither should you.
Just called down fire from heaven, killed 450 prophets, then immediately crashed into suicidal depression. God didn't rebuke him for weakness - He sent an angel with food, let him sleep, and gave him a friend (Elisha). The mighty prophet needed help, and God provided it without shame.
I REFUSE the lie that I should handle everything alone. IT IS WRITTEN that woe comes to the one who falls alone. Moses needed Aaron and Hur to hold up his arms. Elijah needed angelic help and human friendship after his greatest victory. I am designed for COMMUNITY, not isolation. IT IS WRITTEN that where two or three gather in His name, He's in their midst. I receive help without shame TODAY.
The Father doesn't see your need for help as failure. He wired you for brotherhood on purpose. Right now He's positioning people to hold up your arms like Aaron and Hur held Moses'. Your vulnerability is strength, not weakness.
