"Real community isn't for me. I'm always on the outside looking in at everyone else's friend groups."
How it sounds in your head: You see the Instagram stories of girls' trips you weren't invited to. The group texts you're not in. The inside jokes you don't get. You're always adjacent, never central. Other people have their people. You just... don't.
"Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God."
-- Ephesians 2:19Enemy's assignment to convince you that belonging is for others but not for you.
You've been the new girl too many times. You've sat at lunch tables where the conversation flowed around you, not with you. You've been invited out of politeness, not desire. The evidence feels undeniable.
Mephibosheth was a crippled outsider, hiding in obscurity, convinced he had no place at the king's table. David SOUGHT him out, restored him INSTANTLY, and gave him a permanent seat at the royal table—not because of merit, but because of COVENANT.
I REFUSE the lie that real community isn't for me. IT IS WRITTEN that I am no longer a stranger or foreigner but a fellow citizen and MEMBER of God's household. I don't beg for a seat at their table; I have a PERMANENT seat at the King's table. IT IS WRITTEN in 1 Corinthians 12:18 that God has set me in the body EXACTLY as He pleased—I'm not an outsider, I'm ESSENTIAL. The BARAK blessing includes covenant community. I don't earn belonging. I INHERIT it. I receive my people NOW.
The Father isn't making you prove you're worthy of community—He's running toward you with YOUR seat already prepared. Like Mephibosheth, you don't climb your way to the table; you're SUMMONED there by grace, crippled feet and all.
