"Prosperity is for people more spiritual than me; I'm not holy enough for God to bless."
How it sounds in your head: I see people who seem to have it all together getting blessed. But I'm still struggling with sin, still messing up. God probably blesses the people who actually deserve it, not someone like me.
"For if by the one man's offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ."
-- Romans 5:17Source: Religion tying blessing to personal holiness instead of Christ's finished work.
He sees 'perfect' Christians with provision and assumes their holiness earned it. His own struggles make him feel disqualified, creating performance-based blessing that never comes.
Rahab was a PROSTITUTE actively in sin. No time to 'get cleaned up.' God saved her, her family, and she married into Israel's royalty and MESSIANIC LINE. Her breakthrough came WHILE she was still known as 'Rahab the harlot.'
I REFUSE the lie that blessing requires MY holiness. IT IS WRITTEN that I RECEIVE righteousness as a GIFT and REIGN in life through Christ. I qualify by His BLOOD, not my behavior. The BARAK protected Abraham the LIAR, Jacob the DECEIVER, and Judah the ADULTERER. IT IS WRITTEN there is NO CONDEMNATION to those in Christ. I receive abundance as the Father RUNS toward me WHILE I still smell like pigs, before I finish my apology.
The Father doesn't wait for you to clean up—He RUNS to you while you still SMELL LIKE PIGS. The ring goes on BEFORE the shower. The party starts BEFORE the performance. Because sons are blessed by POSITION, not perfection.
