"Poverty keeps me humble and closer to God—wealth would corrupt me spiritually."
How it sounds in your head: You've been taught that struggling financially keeps you dependent on God. That blessing would make you proud and pull you away. Maybe this poverty is actually protecting your soul. Maybe wanting more is spiritual compromise.
"Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers."

She's heard sermons about the rich young ruler and camels through needles. Seen wealthy people who seemed spiritually cold. Been taught that suffering produces character and comfort produces compromise.
Job lost everything and people said it was because of sin. God rebuked the religious friends and gave Job DOUBLE everything he lost—14,000 sheep, 6,000 camels, massive wealth. Job's latter days were more blessed than his beginning and he lived 140 more years prosperous.
I REFUSE the lie that poverty keeps me humble and wealth corrupts. IT IS WRITTEN that God's PRAYER for me is to prosper in ALL things—not struggle to stay spiritual. Abraham, Job, Solomon—all WEALTHY and walked with God. IT IS WRITTEN that the blessing of the Lord makes rich and adds NO sorrow, no spiritual compromise. Poverty is the CURSE that Christ redeemed me from. I don't need lack to stay humble—I need the FATHER to be glorified through His blessing on my life. The BARAK doesn't corrupt—it displays His goodness.
The Father doesn't keep you poor to keep you close—He wants to bless you ABUNDANTLY so the world sees His goodness. While you were believing poverty protected you, He was grieving that you called the curse He died to remove a spiritual safeguard.
