"Other siblings were celebrated, but I was just tolerated—I'm the disposable one."
How it sounds in your head: You saw it in the photos, the attention, the pride in their voices when they talked about your brother or sister. For them, there were celebrations. For you, there was... acknowledgment. You were fed, housed, but never really seen. The disposable child. The one they could lose and recover from. You've lived your whole life as the understudy, never quite making it to the main stage of your own family.
"Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God!"
-- 1 John 3:1Enemy using parental favoritism to establish false hierarchy, making her believe love is limited and she's at the bottom of the distribution.
She remembers every unequal moment—the disproportionate praise, the different standards, the way holidays centered on others. The evidence feels overwhelming that she was the expendable one, and decades of that treatment have calcified into identity.
His brothers HATED him because their father loved him more—they couldn't even speak peaceably to him. They threw him in a pit, sold him into slavery, and told their father he was dead. Years later, after becoming second in command of Egypt, Joseph told them 'You meant evil against me, but God meant it for good.' The rejected brother became the SAVIOR of the family that disposed of him.
I REFUSE the lie that I was disposable or merely tolerated. IT IS WRITTEN that the Father has bestowed LOVE on me that I should be called a child of God. I am not an understudy—I am a DAUGHTER. Not tolerated—TREASURED. Not disposable—IRREPLACEABLE. IT IS WRITTEN that I carry the BARAK blessing, blessed in the city and field, above only and not beneath, because Heaven doesn't rank children by birth order or parental favoritism. I declare I am BEHELD with wonder by the Father who bestowed on me a manner of love this world cannot comprehend.
While your parents were celebrating others, the Father was throwing a party over YOU—the kind where the whole host of Heaven shows up, where the feast never ends, where you're not the tolerated guest but the CELEBRATED DAUGHTER for whom the whole event exists.
