"Osteoporosis is in my genes—my grandmother broke her hip, my mother has it, now I'm next."
How it sounds in your head: The bone density scan showed osteopenia—early stages, they said. My mother broke her wrist at 52. My grandmother broke her hip and never recovered. I'm taking calcium, doing weight-bearing exercise, but feeling like I'm just delaying fractures that are genetically inevitable.
"So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the crawling locust, the consuming locust, and the chewing locust."
-- Joel 2:25Medical/World—accepting progressive bone loss as genetic inevitability while ignoring Scripture's promises of strength and health even in old age.
Bone density scans show lower numbers, multiple female relatives have osteoporosis, and medical professionals emphasize genetic risk factors and hereditary patterns. Her body seems to be following the same trajectory her mother's did, making genetics feel determinative.
At 120 years old—after leading Israel for 40 years through the wilderness—Moses' eyes were not dim, nor his natural vigor diminished. No bone loss, no age-related decline, no deterioration—supernatural strength and health to his final day because he walked with God.
I REFUSE the lie that osteoporosis is my genetic destiny or that bone loss is inevitable because of family history. IT IS WRITTEN that God will restore what the locust has eaten—He reverses deterioration, rebuilds density, renews strength. My bones are strong, my skeletal system functions as God designed, and every cell responds to restoration commands, not ancestral patterns of decline. The BARAK blessing declares I am blessed in my body, and no generational curse of osteoporosis has authority over covenant promises. IT IS WRITTEN that I shall still bear fruit in old age, fresh and flourishing—not brittle and breaking, but STRONG and SOLID. I will be like Moses at 120—eyes bright, strength undimmed, bones unbroken. My daughters will inherit STRENGTH, not fragility.
The Father isn't managing your decline or watching you slowly weaken—He's RESTORING what family patterns have stolen, rebuilding density, renewing structural strength. He's not waiting for your next scan to prove it; He's already declared restoration over your bones through Christ's finished work.
