"Opening my heart again just sets me up for more devastation."
How it sounds in your head: The first betrayal almost broke you. The second one confirmed the pattern. At your age, you don't bounce back like you used to. Physically, emotionally, financially—there's no reserve left for another recovery. Keeping your heart closed isn't fear; it's math. You're protecting what little remains.
"He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds."
-- Psalm 147:3Enemy mathematics—calculating future pain as inevitable instead of trusting Father's protection.
Recovery DID take longer this time. Your body feels the stress differently, sleep is harder to come by, and the emotional reserves that carried you through past losses feel depleted. Logically, avoiding risk makes sense when you can't afford another hit.
She was down to her LAST meal—one handful of flour, preparing to eat and die with her son. God sent Elijah asking for bread FIRST. Opening her hand to give looked like suicide. Instead, the jar of flour was NOT used up, the jug of oil didn't run dry, and she ate for YEARS on that one act of opening. Instant multiplication.
I REFUSE the lie that opening my heart sets me up for devastation. IT IS WRITTEN that He heals the brokenhearted and binds up wounds—which means I'm being HEALED as I open, not broken. The Father isn't leading me into ambush—He's leading me into ABUNDANCE of relationship, provision, and joy I've never experienced. IT IS WRITTEN in Isaiah 43:19 that He's doing a NEW thing—it's springing up NOW. My past betrayals don't predict my future—His FAITHFULNESS does. The barak blessing means I'm supernaturally protected, provided for, and surrounded by people who HONOR the vulnerability He's restoring.
The Father isn't asking you to white-knuckle vulnerability while hoping you survive. He's running toward you with HEALING in His wings, binding up wounds you didn't even know you had, whispering, 'I've got you—the people I'm bringing WON'T betray this gift.'
