"Nobody in my family ever hears from God clearly. Spiritual dullness is just our family trait."
How it sounds in your head: Your parents never talked about hearing God's voice. Your grandparents were religious but distant from God. You pray but hear nothing—maybe your family just isn't wired for that kind of intimacy. Other people hear God; your family doesn't.
"My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me."
-- John 10:27Enemy using absence of modeled intimacy to establish false spiritual ceiling and relational distance.
He's never witnessed anyone in his family describe personal encounters with God or clear divine guidance. His own prayers feel like they hit the ceiling, making spiritual sensitivity seem like a gift other bloodlines have but his doesn't.
Samuel grew up under Eli, whose sons were corrupt and whose own spiritual sensitivity had grown dull—'the word of the LORD was rare in those days.' Yet God spoke directly to young Samuel, and after Eli instructed him how to respond, Samuel heard clearly: 'Then the LORD came and stood and called as at other times.' Eli's dullness didn't limit Samuel's hearing.
I REFUSE the lie that my family's spiritual dullness limits my ability to hear God. IT IS WRITTEN that His sheep HEAR His voice. I AM His sheep—therefore I HEAR. My parents' distance from God does NOT determine my intimacy. My family's silence about God's voice has NO AUTHORITY over my spiritual ears. IT IS WRITTEN that Jesus KNOWS me and SPEAKS to me—not because my family modeled it, but because I belong to Him. The Spirit who lives IN ME teaches me all things. I am NOT spiritually deaf—I HEAR the Father's voice clearly because I'm His beloved son.
The Father doesn't see you as 'from a spiritually dull family' or 'unlikely to hear clearly'—He sees you as His sheep who KNOWS His voice. Right now He's speaking to you with the same clarity He speaks to anyone, because your family history doesn't muffle His voice to His own children.
