"My worth is determined by the number on the scale or the size of my jeans."
How it sounds in your head: If I could just lose 10 pounds, I'd be happy. If I fit into a size 2, I'd be confident. The scale going up means I'm failing; going down means I'm succeeding. Numbers define my value.
"But the LORD said to Samuel, 'Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature, because I have refused him. For the LORD does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.'"

Society literally assigns value to smaller numbers - clothing sizes, weight, measurements - and you've watched people get treated better when they're thinner.
Jesus offered living water to a Samaritan woman with a scandalous past - five husbands, living with a man. He didn't weigh her, measure her, or audit her life. He saw her THIRST and offered Himself. She ran to tell the whole city, and many believed because of her.
I REFUSE the lie that numbers on a scale or tag define my worth. IT IS WRITTEN that the Lord looks at the heart, not outward appearance, and my heart is His dwelling place. My value was set before the foundation of the world when He chose me in Christ. IT IS WRITTEN that I am bought with a price - the blood of Jesus - and THAT is my worth, not a measurement. I am fearfully and wonderfully made, blessed with every spiritual blessing in Christ. The BARAK covers my identity - I am the head, not the tail; above only, not beneath. I am WORTHY because He says so.
Your Father isn't waiting for you to hit a goal weight to love you fully - He's loving you FULLY right now, at this exact size, in these exact jeans. The cross didn't have a weight limit. His love doesn't fluctuate with your measurements. He's running toward you with a ROBE, not a scale.
