"My whole family has allergies and asthma. I'll always struggle with breathing too."

How it sounds in your head: Everyone in my house has an inhaler or takes allergy pills. Spring is miserable for all of us. I can already feel my chest getting tight sometimes, and I'm scared I'm developing the same breathing problems they all have.

"And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being."

Enemy whispers: Breathing problems are in your genes. BUT IT IS WRITTEN: Genesis 2:7 - God BREATHED into man the breath of life. Your lungs were designed by the very breath of God Himself. They were made to receive His breath freely, not struggle for air. IT IS WRITTEN in Job 33:4 - 'The Spirit of God has made me, and the breath of the Almighty gives me life.' Your breath comes from HIM, not from defective genetics.

Quick Truth: LIE: Family breathing problems are mine. TRUTH: God's breath gives me life. (Genesis 2:7)

You watch everyone around you struggle with breathing and allergies seasonally, making it feel inevitable that you'll develop the same patterns.

THE BIBLICAL PRECEDENT John 11:43-44

Lazarus

Lazarus had been dead four days—lungs collapsed, decomposing, no breath at all. Jesus called him out, and he walked out breathing perfectly—instant resurrection of complete respiratory function from total death.

YOUR CONFESSION Speak this out loud

I REFUSE the lie that my family's breathing problems determine mine. IT IS WRITTEN that God breathed into man the breath of life, and that breath was perfect. My lungs were designed by His breath, not limited by genetics. IT IS WRITTEN in Isaiah 40:29 - 'He gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might He increases strength.' The Barak blessing commands clear airways and strong lungs. I breathe freely because the Breath of God formed my respiratory system.
