"My suffering disproves God's love. If He cared, I wouldn't be in this pain."
How it sounds in your head: My body is failing, my friends are dead, I'm losing independence. Where is this loving God? If He's real and good, why am I suffering after faithfully serving Him for 80 years? The pain is proof He doesn't care.
"For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."
-- Romans 8:38-39World system equates comfort with love, when the Cross proves love walks THROUGH suffering, not around it.
Every ache, loss, and indignity feels like abandonment. She bargained: faithfulness should equal comfort. The theology she was taught promised 'blessing' that looked like ease, and her pain feels like breach of contract.
Scripture says 'Jesus LOVED Martha and her sister and Lazarus. So, when He heard he was sick, He stayed TWO MORE DAYS.' Love didn't rush—it let him die. Then Jesus raised him. Delay wasn't abandonment; it was setting up resurrection.
I REFUSE the lie that my suffering disproves God's love. IT IS WRITTEN that NOTHING—not pain, not death, not present circumstances—can separate me from His love in Christ Jesus. Paul wrote that from prison. IT IS WRITTEN that Jesus LOVED Lazarus and still let him die because resurrection was coming. My pain is not proof of absence but invitation to nearness. 'The LORD is near to the brokenhearted.' I am Abraham's seed under the BARAK covenant—blessed in suffering AND in comfort. His love isn't measured by my ease but by the Cross. He didn't spare His own Son pain; He walked through it WITH me.
The Father isn't distant in your pain—He's as close as He was in Gethsemane when His Son sweat blood. Your suffering doesn't repel Him; it draws His presence like a magnet to every tear.
