"My sexual past disqualifies me from receiving a godly relationship now."
How it sounds in your head: I've messed up too much in this area. The porn, the hookups, the relationships I shouldn't have had—it's all disqualified me from getting what I actually want now. God gives good wives to guys who stayed pure, not guys like me.
"I, even I, am He who blots out your transgressions for My own sake; and I will not remember your sins."
-- Isaiah 43:25Religious shame teaching that sexual sin is uniquely disqualifying and must be paid for with withholding.
Purity culture drilled in that sexual sin has permanent consequences, and your past feels like evidence written on your record that can't be erased. The shame is visceral and the logic seems biblical.
Rahab was an active prostitute when God brought the spies to her house. She didn't have to undergo years of purity restoration—she was brought into Israel immediately, married Salmon (a prince of Judah), and became part of Jesus' bloodline. Her sexual past didn't disqualify her from covenant blessing.
I REFUSE the lie that my sexual past disqualifies me from God's best. IT IS WRITTEN that my Father blots out my transgressions and WILL NOT REMEMBER my sins. I am not the sum of my sexual history—I am the RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD in Christ Jesus. IT IS WRITTEN that I am cleansed from ALL unrighteousness, not most of it. The blood of Jesus doesn't leave asterisks or footnotes—it makes me WHITE AS SNOW, completely qualified for every covenant promise. I am Abraham's seed, heir to the BARAK blessing that protected Judah who slept with his daughter-in-law thinking she was a prostitute. If sexual sin didn't disqualify him from the Messianic line, my past doesn't disqualify me from blessing. I am forgiven, cleansed, and fully qualified by GRACE ALONE.
Your Father isn't keeping a scorecard of your sexual past to determine what you deserve. He's the God who put Rahab the prostitute in Jesus' family tree without a probation period. The moment you came to Him, He made you WHITE AS SNOW—that's not hyperbole, that's your actual standing.
