"My retirement is ruined because of past financial mistakes I made."
How it sounds in your head: I blew money on a business that failed. I co-signed loans I shouldn't have. I trusted the wrong investment advisor. My stupidity destroyed what should have been secure, and there's no do-over at 66.
"Do not remember the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth; shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert."
-- Isaiah 43:18-19Religious lie: present provision is earned by past wisdom; mistakes disqualify you from future blessing—works-based retirement.
His mistakes are documented facts with real financial consequences. Friends who made wise choices are comfortable while his foolishness created measurable loss that time can't reverse.
Denied Jesus three times after swearing loyalty, failed spectacularly at his moment of testing. After resurrection, Jesus didn't put him on probation or make him earn restoration—He immediately recommissioned him to 'feed My sheep' and gave him the keys to Kingdom expansion without mentioning the failure.
I REFUSE the lie that past mistakes disqualify future provision. IT IS WRITTEN: 'Do not remember the former things...I will do a NEW thing, now it shall spring forth.' My retirement isn't funded by perfect decisions—it's funded by perfect covenant. The BARAK blessing covered JACOB THE DECEIVER and made him wealthy despite schemes that should have ruined him. IT IS WRITTEN: 'As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us.' My financial past is under the blood, and my financial future flows from His faithfulness, not my track record.
The Father isn't reviewing your portfolio mistakes with disappointment. He's the God who made the prodigal rich AFTER he blew everything—your 'new thing' isn't limited by old failures because He cannot deny Himself.
