"My past moral failures disqualify me from God's full blessing in retirement years."
How it sounds in your head: You know what you did back then - the affair, the porn, the lies. You confessed, but those choices have consequences. You can be forgiven but not fully blessed. You forfeited that right.
"As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us."
-- Psalm 103:12Religion teaches grace covers salvation but works determine blessing levels, making the cross insufficient.
Your memory of those failures is vivid and shameful. Natural consequences did follow - broken trust, damaged relationships. It seems logical that spiritual consequences continue limiting God's blessing.
He committed adultery with Bathsheba, murdered her husband Uriah, covered it up for months. Nathan confronted him, David repented, and God said "The Lord has taken away your sin." Their next son, Solomon, became king - God called him Jedidiah, "beloved of the Lord."
I REFUSE the lie that my past failures limit God's present blessing. IT IS WRITTEN that He removed my sins as far as east is from west - infinite, unreachable distance. There is NO condemnation for those in Christ Jesus. IT IS WRITTEN that the BARAK protected liars, deceivers, adulterers, and murderers because it was based on COVENANT, not character. Christ redeemed me from the curse. My past doesn't determine my blessing - HIS BLOOD does. I declare I am fully qualified by the cross, not disqualified by my history.
Your Father doesn't keep a file of your moral failures to determine your blessing capacity. He threw that file into the sea of forgetfulness. He's running toward you with the ring of authority, the robe of righteousness, and the fattened calf - not because you earned it back, but because you never lost your position as son.
