"My parents hide bills and bank accounts from each other, so secrets are normal."
How it sounds in your head: Dad has a bank account Mom doesn't know about. Mom has credit cards Dad doesn't see. They both tell me not to mention money stuff to the other one. I'm stuck keeping their secrets. I guess this is just what marriage and money looks like—hiding and lying.
"And the two shall become one flesh; so then they are no longer two, but one flesh."
-- Mark 10:8Enemy normalizing financial deception as marriage pattern, establishing division as acceptable.
You're living in it daily—both parents asking you to keep financial secrets from the other. You're literally the go-between. If both of them do it, it must be normal adult behavior. Nobody you know talks about their parents being totally honest with money.
They secretly kept back part of money while pretending to give it all, lying to each other and the church. Their financial deception brought instant judgment and death—God takes financial unity and honesty THAT seriously. He could have just corrected them, but the severity shows how much He values transparent partnership.
I REFUSE the lie that financial secrets and separate money are normal marriage patterns. IT IS WRITTEN that two become ONE flesh, not two separate financial lives. I will NOT carry hidden accounts and deception into my future marriage. The BARAK blessing flows through UNITY and transparency. IT IS WRITTEN that a house divided against itself cannot stand. I choose now to believe in marriages where money is handled together in honesty. God is breaking generational patterns of financial deception off my future RIGHT NOW. I am free from secrets.
Your Father sees you trapped in the middle of secrets that were never yours to carry, and He's running toward you with FREEDOM. He's already writing a different story for your future—one where you walk in complete financial transparency and the peace that comes with it.
