"My natural sensitivity and empathy make me too emotional and unstable for God to rely on"
How it sounds in your head: I feel everything deeply—other people's pain, the atmosphere in rooms, the weight of words. I cry easily, absorb emotions, need time to process. But leaders are supposed to be strong, stable, not swayed by feelings. Maybe I'm just too fragile for anything significant.
"Jesus wept."
-- John 11:35World that weaponizes female emotion, religious stoicism presented as maturity, trauma from being called 'too sensitive.'
A lifetime of being told you're 'too emotional' or 'too sensitive' creates shame about your natural empathy. When even well-meaning people suggest you need thicker skin, you assume your sensitivity is weakness rather than gifting.
Jesus saw Mary weeping, was deeply moved in His spirit, troubled Himself, and wept openly at Lazarus's tomb EVEN THOUGH He was about to raise him from the dead. His emotions didn't prevent the miracle—they preceded it.
I REFUSE the lie that my deep emotions make me unstable or unusable. IT IS WRITTEN that Jesus Himself wept—my sensitivity reflects His HEART, not human weakness. I am the BARAK blessing carrying the compassion of Christ, feeling what others miss, interceding where others walk past. IT IS WRITTEN in Hebrews 4:15 that we have a High Priest who SYMPATHIZES with our weaknesses—empathy is divine DNA, not personality flaw. My tears are not fragility—they are PROPHECY. The Father celebrates my tender heart as the very quality that makes me TRUSTWORTHY with broken people.
The Father is running toward you with tissues in one hand and a mantle in the other, saying 'Your tears are what qualify you, not disqualify you!' He made you sensitive because a hardened world needs someone who still FEELS, still CARES, still WEEPS with those who weep.
