"My marriage is beyond repair after decades of damage."
How it sounds in your head: You've tried everything—counseling, books, changing yourself, praying, submitting, setting boundaries. There's too much water under the bridge. The wounds are too deep. Resurrection would require a miracle you don't believe in anymore because you've been disappointed too many times.
"And He said to me, 'Son of man, can these bones live?' So I answered, 'O Lord God, You know.'"
-- Ezekiel 37:3Trauma + disappointment that taught you to lower expectations, plus religion that made marriage survival equal spirituality.
You have literal DECADES of evidence that nothing changes. Patterns are entrenched. You've forgiven and been hurt again so many times that hope feels foolish. The pain has calcified into numb coexistence, and that feels safer than hoping.
Lazarus was DEAD four days, body already decomposing, situation humanly irreversible. Jesus spoke ONE WORD—'Lazarus, come forth!'—and he walked out of the tomb fully alive—INSTANT resurrection of what was completely dead.
I REFUSE the lie that decades of damage put my marriage beyond God's reach. IT IS WRITTEN that God breathes on dry bones and they LIVE—not gradually, but INSTANTLY become a mighty army. Lazarus was DEAD and STINKING and Jesus raised him with one command. IT IS WRITTEN in Matthew 19:26 that with men this is impossible, but with God ALL things are possible. I don't trust in our ability to change—I trust in RESURRECTION POWER. The same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead dwells in me and my spouse, and dead things come to LIFE in His presence. Whether He resurrects this marriage or gives me peace to walk away, I am LED by His goodness, not trapped by time.
The Father isn't looking at the scoreboard of decades—He's looking at His power to make ALL THINGS NEW, and that includes marriages everyone else wrote off. Whether He breathes life INSTANTLY or makes a new way, you are loved, led, and not abandoned.
