"My kids would be better off with a different mom who has her life together"
How it sounds in your head: You look at your mental health struggles, your inconsistency, your chaos and think they drew the short straw. If they had a mom who wasn't depressed, anxious, struggling—they'd have a better shot at life.
"Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, the days fashioned for me, when as yet there were none of them."
-- Psalm 139:16Condemnation from the enemy plus comparison culture that says your struggles disqualify you from being the right parent for your specific children.
Your mental health impacts your parenting daily—you can see the ways your struggles affect them. It's logical to think they'd thrive more with someone more stable.
She was a SLAVE with no resources, no power, no stability—she literally had to throw her baby in a river to save him. God used that exact broken situation to position Moses in Pharaoh's palace while still being nursed by his biological mother who got PAID for it.
I REFUSE the lie that my kids would be better off with someone else. IT IS WRITTEN that their days were written in God's book before one of them came to be—and that book included ME as their mother. I am not a cosmic mistake. God saw my mental health, my struggles, my chaos and said 'YOU are exactly who I want mothering these specific children.' IT IS WRITTEN that He works ALL THINGS together for good. My struggles are not disqualifying me—they're positioning my kids to see His power in my weakness. I am under the BARAK blessing—my children are blessed because of COVENANT, not my performance. I am exactly the right mom for these specific kids.
The Father doesn't look at you and wish He'd assigned your kids to someone else—He looks at you and says 'She is exactly who I had in mind.' He's been preparing your kids' blessing since before you even struggled.
