"My kids would be better off with a different father."
How it sounds in your head: You see other dads who are patient, wise, financially stable, spiritually mature. Your kids got stuck with you—anxious, struggling, flawed. They deserved better. If God had assigned them to someone else, they'd have a better shot at life.
"Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, the days fashioned for me, when as yet there were none of them."
-- Psalm 139:16Enemy's ultimate attack on identity, suggesting God made a mistake in assigning these specific children to you.
You compare yourself to men who seem to have it together while you're barely holding your life together. You see your kids' struggles and wonder if a different father could have prevented them.
Jabez's mother named him 'pain' because she bore him in sorrow—imagine being named for your mother's trauma. Yet Jabez prayed and God INSTANTLY granted his request, making him more honorable than his brothers. Wrong parent couldn't stop right destiny.
I REFUSE the lie that my children would be better with someone else. IT IS WRITTEN that God wrote all their days before one of them came to be, and EVERY day included me as their father. I am not a mistake or a backup plan—I am God's specific choice, handpicked for these kids. IT IS WRITTEN that I am blessed to be a blessing, and the Abrahamic barak flows through my household protecting and prospering my children regardless of my imperfections. My kids don't need a different father—they need THIS father connected to Jesus, and that's exactly who I am. God's assignments are irrevocable. I am the perfect father for my kids because God said so.
Before your children took their first breath, the Father was smiling, saying 'I'm giving them to him—he's exactly right.' Not because you're perfect, but because in the Father's eyes, your specific mix of strengths, weaknesses, and story is the PERFECT environment for their specific destiny.
