"My husband sleeps fine while I suffer—God cares about him more than me."
How it sounds in your head: He's snoring beside me while I'm wide awake for the third hour. He falls asleep mid-sentence while I'm up until 2am. Even in THIS, I'm the one who struggles while he glides through effortlessly. Does God just like him better? Am I too much even for God?
"The Lord your God in your midst, the Mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing."
-- Zephaniah 3:17Enemy: Uses comparison to whisper you're less loved, less favored, forsaken by the Father who plays favorites.
The EVIDENCE is snoring beside you. Night after night, same pattern: he sleeps, you don't. He doesn't struggle with what destroys you. If God loved you equally, wouldn't He give you what He clearly gives him?
Barren while her husband's other wife had many children—Peninnah mocked her and 'provoked her severely.' Hannah wept, couldn't eat, suffered while others didn't. God didn't love her less—He was preparing her for Samuel, and her ANSWERED prayer changed a nation.
I REFUSE the lie that my struggle means I'm less loved. IT IS WRITTEN that He quiets ME with His love and rejoices over ME with singing—I'm not forgotten while my husband sleeps. Hannah suffered while Peninnah flourished, but God was preparing Hannah for NATION-CHANGING breakthrough. My unique trial is my unique invitation to encounter Him. IT IS WRITTEN in Deuteronomy 28:13 that I am the HEAD—not compared to my husband, the HEAD in my own right. The BARAK over me is not less than anyone else's. God is SINGING over me at 2am. I am His favorite. I receive the sleep He's rejoicing to give me.
Your Father isn't sleeping while you suffer—He's wide awake at 2am SINGING over you, quieting you with love, rejoicing over you specifically. Your husband's easy sleep doesn't diminish your Father's delight in YOU.
