"My family's wealth is cursed, so I don't want the inheritance."
How it sounds in your head: Money destroyed my family. People fought over Grandpa's estate. Everyone who got money ended up miserable. Maybe it's safer to just stay broke—at least I won't turn into them.
"Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, 'Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree'), that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith."
-- Galatians 3:13-14Fear-based poverty theology disguised as wisdom—the enemy making her reject blessing to avoid perceived curse, when Christ already broke every curse.
She's watched family members fight, relationships shatter over money, and misery follow wealth. The pattern looks undeniable and she's terrified of repeating it.
They were slaves for 400 years in a pagan nation full of idolatry and occultism—Egypt's wealth was built on false gods and oppression. God told them to ASK for gold and silver, and the Egyptians GAVE it willingly. They left with the 'cursed' nation's wealth, and God used it to build the TABERNACLE. The wealth wasn't cursed in THEIR hands because they were covenant people.
I REFUSE the lie that my family's wealth is cursed and I should reject inheritance to stay safe. IT IS WRITTEN that Christ has REDEEMED me from EVERY curse—there is no 'cursed money' for those covered by the blood of Jesus. The blessing of Abraham is MINE, and that includes provision and prosperity under the NEW COVENANT. IT IS WRITTEN that the Israelites took Egypt's gold and silver and used it to build the TABERNACLE—wealth isn't toxic in surrendered hands. I am not my family's sin patterns; I am a NEW CREATION in Christ. The BARAK flows to me with BLESSING, not curse, because I'm in covenant. I receive wealth, favor, and provision with JOY, knowing that in MY hands it will build the kingdom, bless others, and glorify God. I am blessed and NOT cursed, in Jesus' name.
Papa isn't afraid of giving you wealth—He REDEEMED you so the blessing of Abraham could flow to you, and that includes provision. He's running toward you with the fattened calf, the robe, the ring—lavish, generous, unafraid, because HIS blessing breaks every curse.
