"My family's poverty proves God doesn't bless people like us."
How it sounds in your head: You've watched your family pray, work hard, try everything. Still poor. Still struggling. If God was going to bless people like you, wouldn't He have done it by now? Maybe the prosperity thing works for other families but not yours. Maybe you're just not on His blessing list.
"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ."
-- Ephesians 1:3Religious lie that God's blessing is selective rather than covenant-based and freely given in Christ.
Generations of good Christian people in your family prayed and stayed poor. The evidence seems to suggest God's blessing goes to other people, not your bloodline.
Onesimus was a runaway slave - literally the lowest social status possible, a criminal, owned nothing, had nothing. Paul sent him back and Philemon received him no longer as a slave but as a BELOVED BROTHER - instant status change from property to family, immediate elevation.
I REFUSE the lie that my family's history disqualifies me from God's blessing. IT IS WRITTEN that God HAS BLESSED me with EVERY spiritual blessing in Christ - past tense, already done, complete provision. My family's past poverty does not override my present position IN CHRIST. IT IS WRITTEN in 2 Corinthians 8:9 that though Christ was rich, He became poor so that through His poverty I might become RICH. The BARAK blessing is mine by covenant, not by family performance. I am blessed coming in and going out, the head and not the tail, above only and not beneath. The generational curse ENDED at the cross.
The Father doesn't see your family's struggle as evidence of His distance - He sees it as setup for a testimony of His goodness. He's not punishing your bloodline; He's preparing a breakthrough that will rewrite your family story, and He's RUNNING toward you with the blessing that's been legally yours since the moment you believed.
