"My family's poverty is proof we're under a curse. Good Christians prosper—something must be wrong with us."
How it sounds in your head: You watch prosperity preachers and feel condemned. If God blesses the faithful, and your family has been faithful but poor, something must be wrong. The voice says your poverty is evidence of hidden sin or weak faith.
"Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, 'Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree')."
-- Galatians 3:13Religion making prosperity proof of God's favor and poverty proof of His displeasure, creating shame.
Deuteronomy 28 lists blessings for obedience and curses for disobedience, and your poverty looks like the curse list. Other Christians seem blessed, so the comparison creates condemnation.
Lazarus was a poor beggar covered in sores, eating crumbs from a rich man's table—he looked cursed by every religious measure. When he died, angels carried him to ABRAHAM'S SIDE—the place of highest honor—while the 'blessed' rich man went to torment. Poverty wasn't God's judgment.
I REFUSE the lie that poverty proves I'm cursed. IT IS WRITTEN: Christ REDEEMED me from the curse of the law, becoming a curse FOR me. I am NOT under Deuteronomy 28 curses—Jesus took them ALL. Lazarus was poor and went to Abraham's side. Job lost everything and was most righteous. My Father's favor isn't measured by my bank account. IT IS WRITTEN that the blessing of Abraham is mine by COVENANT, not performance. If Abraham the LIAR and Jacob the DECEIVER stayed blessed, I am blessed. There is NO CONDEMNATION for me in Christ. My poverty is NOT evidence of a curse—it's the ENEMY'S lie that ends NOW with breakthrough.
Your Father isn't withholding provision as punishment for hidden sins. He's preparing the breakthrough while you've been believing the lie, and the angels are already carrying it toward you just like they carried Lazarus to honor.
