"My cultural background made me see God differently than the people around me, and I was wrong."
How it sounds in your head: The way I related to God felt different from how they taught in church. My expressions, my prayer style, my worship—always felt too ethnic, too foreign. I spent decades trying to make my faith fit their mold. Maybe I never truly understood Him right.
"After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could number, of all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, with palm branches in their hands."
-- Revelation 7:9Religion + enemy using cultural conformity to steal the UNIQUE expression God placed in you.
Church culture felt foreign and his authentic expression was often corrected or sidelined. Decades of feeling spiritually out of place creates deep doubt.
The Ethiopian eunuch came from a completely different cultural and religious background. Philip met him EXACTLY where he was culturally, and the Spirit IMMEDIATELY confirmed his faith without requiring cultural conversion—he went away rejoicing in his own context.
I REFUSE the lie that my cultural expression of faith was inferior or wrong. IT IS WRITTEN: Heaven includes EVERY tribe and tongue, each worshiping authentically. God didn't create my culture by accident—it's part of His diverse design. My unique way of relating to God ENRICHES His Kingdom, not diminishes it. IT IS WRITTEN: From one blood He made every nation. Western church culture isn't the only valid expression of faith. I was never wrong—I was UNIQUE by divine intention. My worship matters exactly as it is.
The Father delights in the cultural flavor you bring to worship. He didn't create diversity to homogenize it—He created it to display the FULLNESS of His glory through every tribe's unique expression of His love.
