"My confusion and memory loss are spiritual attacks I need to rebuke."
How it sounds in your head: I can't remember where I put things, I forget conversations, I get confused about what day it is. The TV preacher said confusion is from the devil and we should rebuke it. Maybe if I had more faith, I could bind this spirit of confusion and get my mind back.
"Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day."
-- 2 Corinthians 4:16Source: Word-of-faith teaching that attributes natural aging and neurological decline to demonic spirits, making her feel her dementia symptoms are spiritual failures she should be able to rebuke away.
First Corinthians 14:33 says 'God is not the author of confusion,' and preachers apply that to memory loss, making her think if she just rebuked harder or believed more, her brain would work again. The gradual decline feels like losing a battle.
Moses was 120 years old when he died, and Scripture says 'his eyes were not dim nor his natural vigor diminished.' This was the EXCEPTION, a supernatural preservation for his unique calling—not the standard. Most age naturally, and that's not demonic; it's human.
I REFUSE the lie that my confusion and memory loss are demonic attacks to rebuke. IT IS WRITTEN that our outward man is PERISHING—Paul expected physical decline, including cognitive decline. My brain is aging naturally, not demonically. I don't need more faith to fix my neurons; I need more GRACE to accept my humanity. IT IS WRITTEN that even as my body weakens, my inward man is being RENEWED. My memory doesn't determine my standing with God. I am the BARAK-blessed daughter, loved in every stage of decline. God isn't mad at my forgetfulness. He's present IN it.
The Father sees every forgotten word and lost memory, and He's not asking you to rebuke them away—He's saying, 'I remember for you, beloved.' While you're trying to bind confusion, He's gently whispering, 'Your brain is tired; let Me carry what you can't hold.'
