"My child is too far gone; they've blasphemed and crossed the line."
How it sounds in your head: They're not just distant—they mock God, live with their partner, posted that blasphemous thing online. People at church say there's a point of no return. Maybe they've committed the unforgivable sin. Maybe God has given them over.
"although I was formerly a blasphemer, a persecutor, and an insolent man; but I obtained mercy because I did it ignorantly in unbelief."
-- 1 Timothy 1:13Religion creates imaginary lines God supposedly won't cross, contradicting the cross that already crossed every line to reach the worst sinners.
The child's defiance feels so extreme, so public, so mocking that it seems to exceed normal rebellion. Pastors quote vague warnings about hardened hearts and grieving the Spirit.
Manasseh sacrificed his own children to demons, practiced witchcraft, filled Jerusalem with innocent blood, and led Israel into abominations worse than the pagan nations. When he cried out to God from captivity, God IMMEDIATELY heard him, brought him back to Jerusalem, and restored him. The worst king became a worshiper.
I REFUSE the lie that my child has crossed the line of God's reach. IT IS WRITTEN that Paul was a blasphemer and persecutor and obtained MERCY. Manasseh sacrificed children to demons and God still restored him the moment he cried out. There is NO sin bigger than the cross, NO blasphemy louder than the blood, NO distance farther than the Father's run to the prodigal. IT IS WRITTEN that where sin abounds, grace abounds MUCH MORE—my child's rebellion is not the exception to this rule. I stand as Abraham's seed, and the BARAK covered liars, deceivers, and murderers. My child is not too far gone; they are being drawn by the same Spirit who raised Christ from the dead. The Father is running toward them RIGHT NOW.
The Father doesn't have a 'too far' category. While your child is still raging, He's already preparing the robe, the ring, and the party—just like He did when you were still a sinner, still mocking, still running.
