"My child is difficult because God is punishing me for past mistakes."
How it sounds in your head: You had an abortion, or slept around, or partied too hard before you got saved. Now your kid has special needs or constant illness or behavioral issues, and deep down you think: This is payback.
"And His disciples asked Him, saying, 'Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?' Jesus answered, 'Neither this man nor his parents sinned, but that the works of God should be revealed in him.'"
-- John 9:2-3Enemy accusation mixed with religious karma teaching that God punishes parents through their children.
You can draw a direct line from your past sin to your present struggle, and it feels like divine justice catching up.
Five failed marriages, living with a man she wasn't married to—outcast, ashamed, hiding at noon. Jesus didn't punish her; He REVEALED Himself to her FIRST, made her the first evangelist to her WHOLE CITY. Past didn't disqualify—it became her PULPIT.
I REFUSE the lie that my child's struggles are punishment for my past. IT IS WRITTEN: there is NO CONDEMNATION for those in Christ Jesus. Jesus said challenges come NOT because of sin but to REVEAL God's glory. IT IS WRITTEN in Isaiah 43:18: 'Do not remember the former things.' My past is under the BLOOD. My child is not a curse—my child is a GIFT. The BARAK blessing covers my history and my baby. God is not mad—He's MAKING something beautiful.
The Father is weeping WITH you, not AT you, saying: 'I'm not punishing you—I'm PARTNERING with you. Every challenge is a setup for a TESTIMONY. I waste nothing—not your past, not this present struggle. GLORY is coming.'
