"My body is failing; I have nothing valuable left to offer."
How it sounds in your head: I can't walk, can't hear, can't remember names. I'm a shell of who I was. What good is a man who can't even take care of himself? Strength is gone, mind is fading—I'm useless.
"Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day."
-- 2 Corinthians 4:16World's body-worship; enemy's lie equating physical capacity with spiritual authority; cultural rejection of weakness.
Every bodily function is declining, dependence is complete, and the physical evidence of deterioration is undeniable. The man who once provided now can't even dress himself.
Paul had a 'thorn in the flesh,' a physical weakness he begged God to remove three times. God said, 'My strength is made PERFECT in weakness.' Paul responded, 'Therefore I GLADLY boast in my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.'
I REFUSE the lie that my failing body equals a failing life. IT IS WRITTEN: 'Though the OUTWARD man is perishing, the INWARD man is being RENEWED day by day.' My value is NOT in my flesh; it's in my SPIRIT, and my spirit is being STRENGTHENED as my body weakens. IT IS WRITTEN: God's strength is made PERFECT in weakness. I am Paul—GLADLY boasting in weakness so Christ's power RESTS on me. The BARAK blessing flows through SPIRIT, not muscle. I decree: my INNER man is being RENEWED daily.
The Father isn't mourning your physical decline—He's RENEWING your inner man DAILY. Like Paul boasting in weakness, your failing body is the STAGE for His perfect strength to rest on you.
