"My body is declining. I can't perform like I used to."
How it sounds in your head: You're not 22 anymore. Recovery takes longer. The weight doesn't come off. Your back hurts. Younger guys can outwork you physically. You're on the decline, and it's only going to get worse from here.
"But those who wait on the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint."
-- Isaiah 40:31Enemy: Uses natural aging to suggest spiritual and purpose decline
You actually do feel it—the joints, the slower recovery, the fact that you can't pull all-nighters without consequences. Every commercial for guys your age is about hair loss and ED pills.
Caleb was 85 years old and declared, 'I am as strong this day as on the day Moses sent me; just as my strength was then, so now is my strength for war.' He then took the mountain and drove out giants—at 85.
I REFUSE the lie that my body's decline defines my capacity. IT IS WRITTEN that those who wait on the Lord RENEW their strength—not maintain, RENEW. Caleb was STRONGER at 85 than at 40. My vitality is not based on age but on COVENANT. IT IS WRITTEN that by His stripes I am healed—present tense, right now. I am blessed in my body, blessed in my strength. The same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead dwells in ME and gives LIFE to my mortal body. I run and am not weary. I walk and do not faint.
The Father isn't watching your decline and shaking His head. He's running toward you with RENEWAL, the same power that raised Jesus flooding your mortal body right now, no earning required.
