"My body is broken and betraying me; I can't trust it anymore."
How it sounds in your head: I used to dance, run, feel strong. Now my own body is the enemy. It's attacking itself, shutting down, failing me. I look in the mirror and see someone I don't recognize. I can't trust the signals it's sending. I can't count on it to do basic things. My body has become a prison, a war zone, a traitor. How do I live in a body I can't trust?
"Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's."
-- 1 Corinthians 6:19-20Source: Enemy's strategy to separate her identity from her body, making her feel like a victim of her own flesh instead of a daughter with authority over it.
She feels the pain, the exhaustion, the malfunction. Her body IS doing things she can't control. The symptoms are real, the betrayal feels real, and every flare-up reinforces that her body is not on her side. She's grieving the loss of the body she used to have, the life she used to live.
Eutychus fell asleep during Paul's sermon, fell out of a third-story window, and was 'taken up DEAD.' Not injured. Not critical. DEAD. His body had completely failed—no heartbeat, no breath, no life. Paul went down, embraced him, and said, 'Do not trouble yourselves, for his life is in him.' They brought the young man back ALIVE and were 'not a little comforted.' Total body shutdown, reversed IMMEDIATELY.
I REFUSE the lie that my body is my enemy or that it has betrayed me beyond God's ability to restore. IT IS WRITTEN that my body is the TEMPLE of the Holy Spirit, bought with a price, and the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead DWELLS in my mortal body, giving it LIFE. Eutychus fell three stories and was taken up DEAD, and Paul spoke life and he was ALIVE. IT IS WRITTEN in Job 33:25 that God can make our flesh 'fresh like a child's' and restore us to the days of our youth. I am Abraham's seed, walking in the BARAK that blesses my body, my frame, my health. I am not a victim of my flesh; I am a daughter with the LIFE of God pulsing through me.
The Father doesn't see her body as the enemy or a lost cause. He sees it as the TEMPLE He's inhabiting, the dwelling place He's protecting, the daughter He's restoring—and He's running toward her with the same resurrection power that raised Jesus, ready to flood her mortal body with LIFE.
