"My body is betraying me with changes I can't control or understand."
How it sounds in your head: Your period came at the worst time. Your body is doing things that feel embarrassing and out of control. You feel like you're living in a stranger's body that won't cooperate, and every change feels like something wrong instead of something natural.
"For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother's womb."
-- Psalm 139:13Cultural shame around female bodies and natural processes, treating puberty as a curse instead of design.
No one prepared you for how chaotic and uncomfortable these changes would feel. Your body feels like an enemy, unpredictable and humiliating, instead of something wonderfully made.
She bled for twelve years—unclean, untouchable, broke from seeking cures. She touched Jesus' garment and was IMMEDIATELY healed. Jesus didn't recoil from her 'unclean' condition; He stopped everything to publicly honor her and call her 'Daughter.'
I REFUSE the lie that my body is betraying me. IT IS WRITTEN that God formed my inward parts, that I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Every hormone, every cycle, every change is by design, not by mistake. My body is not my enemy; it's evidence of God's intricate craftsmanship. IT IS WRITTEN that my body is a temple of the Holy Spirit. The Father doesn't look at my changing body with disgust; He looks with delight at the young woman He's crafting. I am not broken; I am becoming.
The Father doesn't see your body changes as awkward phases to endure; He sees them as beautiful unfolding of the design He's been excited about since before you were born. He's not embarrassed by your period or your growth—He built those systems with pride and calls them VERY GOOD.
