"My accent makes people think I'm less intelligent or educated"
How it sounds in your head: You have advanced degrees, decades of expertise, wisdom from two cultures. But you watch people's faces change when you speak, see them talk slower or louder as if you can't understand. They hear your accent and assume you need help with simple concepts you mastered fifty years ago.
"So the LORD said to him, 'Who has made man's mouth? Or who makes the mute, the deaf, the seeing, or the blind? Have not I, the LORD? Now therefore, go, and I will be with your mouth and teach you what you shall say.'"
-- Exodus 4:11-12Enemy using linguistic prejudice to make you question the intelligence God already confirmed
You've been interrupted, corrected on pronunciation, had people speak over you in meetings. You've watched less qualified people get opportunities because they 'communicate better.' The disrespect has been constant and subtle for decades.
Moses protested that he was 'slow of speech and slow of tongue,' yet God chose him to confront Pharaoh and lead a nation. God didn't fix his speech impediment—He used him AS IS and his words brought down an empire and established a covenant.
I REFUSE the lie that my accent diminishes my intelligence or authority. IT IS WRITTEN that the LORD made my mouth and will be with my mouth to teach me what to say—He formed my voice exactly as He intended. My words carry divine authority regardless of pronunciation. The BARAK blessing gives me favor that transcends linguistic prejudice. IT IS WRITTEN that out of the mouth of babes and nursing infants God has ordained strength—my speech is powerful not because of accent but because of anointing. I speak with confidence, knowing God Himself is with my mouth, and I walk in the FULL blessing today.
The Father isn't embarrassed by your accent or wishing you sounded different—He delights in the unique sound of your voice because it's HIS design. He's applauding every word, celebrating the richness that multiple languages bring, and your voice carries more authority than you know.
