"Men peak young and it's downhill from there. Aging is decline, loss, and irrelevance."
How it sounds in your head: Athletes retire in their 30s. Actors age out. Tech founders are all 20-somethings. By the time you hit middle age, you're obsolete. Aging means losing your edge, your vitality, your value. It's all downhill.
"The righteous shall flourish like a palm tree, he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon. Those who are planted in the house of the LORD shall flourish in the courts of our God. They shall still bear fruit in old age; they shall be fresh and flourishing."
-- Psalm 92:12-14Source: Culture's youth worship that treats aging as a curse rather than the biblical pattern of increasing glory and fruitfulness.
Every magazine cover, every success story, every 'person to watch' list is young people. Older men are in the background, fading, forgotten. The message is clear: young is valuable, old is disposable.
Abraham was 100 years old—physically dead, past all natural ability—when Isaac was born. God waited until Abraham was IMPOSSIBLE before fulfilling the promise. Age wasn't the barrier; it was the SETUP for the miracle. Dead at 100, father of nations at 100.
I REFUSE the lie that aging equals decline. IT IS WRITTEN that the righteous bear fruit in old age, fresh and flourishing—God's pattern is INCREASE, not decrease. Abraham fathered nations at 100. Moses led Israel at 80. Caleb conquered mountains at 85. IT IS WRITTEN that the path of the righteous is like the shining sun, shining ever brighter until the full day. Every year is UPGRADE, not downgrade. I am Abraham's seed, and the BARAK blessing INCREASES with time. I speak FRESH STRENGTH, NEW DREAMS, and GREATER GLORY over every stage of life.
The Father isn't phasing you out as you age. He's been saving the best wine for last—your latter days greater than your former, your final chapters more glorious than your first. He's not done; He's just getting started.
