"Love always leaves. Everyone I loved is dead or gone."
How it sounds in your head: My husband is dead. My friends are dead. My siblings are dead. Everyone I loved left, one way or another. Love doesn't stay. I'm alone now and I'll be alone when I die. Love always, always leaves.
"For He Himself has said, 'I will never leave you nor forsake you.'"
-- Hebrews 13:5Enemy uses grief as proof that love is temporary and God is absent.
The losses are REAL and devastating. You've buried more people than you can count. Every goodbye feels like evidence that love is temporary, that eventually everyone leaves. The enemy uses your grief to hide God's permanent presence.
Naomi lost her husband and both sons—buried everyone she loved, called herself 'bitter.' God gave her Ruth's loyalty and a grandson (Obed, in Jesus' line). Love didn't leave; it TRANSFORMED, came from unexpected places.
I REFUSE the lie that love always leaves. IT IS WRITTEN that God will NEVER leave me nor forsake me—this is covenant promise, not human sentiment. The Father is NOT another loss waiting to happen; He is PERMANENT, unchanging, with me in every goodbye. IT IS WRITTEN in Deuteronomy 31:8 that He goes BEFORE me and will be WITH me. I am BARAK blessed—held by love that doesn't die.
The Father hasn't left you in your losses; He's been IN them, holding you through every funeral, every empty room. He's not one more person who will die and leave you—He's the eternal presence who will carry you HOME.
