"Love always costs me. Every relationship means losing myself, my boundaries, my voice to keep them happy."
How it sounds in your head: I give until empty and they still leave. I've lost friendships because I couldn't do one more thing. I say yes when I mean no because rejection feels like death. Love shouldn't feel this expensive.
"There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love."
-- 1 John 4:18Enemy + trauma: Past relationships taught you love is transactional—your worth is what you provide, not who you are.
You've people-pleased yourself into exhaustion, sacrificed your needs repeatedly, and still been abandoned. Every relationship feels like a negotiation where you're always outbidding to stay chosen.
She gave freely—built a room for Elisha, provided meals, asked nothing in return. When her only son died, she didn't perform or pretend. She demanded the prophet come, refused to leave without her miracle. God didn't punish her boldness—He RAISED HER SON FROM THE DEAD the same day.
I REFUSE the lie that love requires me to vanish. IT IS WRITTEN that perfect love casts OUT fear, not creates it. I will not trade my voice for acceptance, my boundaries for belonging. The Father's love is not a transaction where I perform and He tolerates. IT IS WRITTEN in Romans 8:32 He who gave His own Son will FREELY give me all things—FREELY, not as payment for my exhaustion. The BARAK blessing over me means I am blessed COMING IN and GOING OUT, not blessed only when I'm convenient, silent, and self-erasing.
The Father doesn't love you more when you're smaller. He celebrated you at full volume before you did a single thing for Him. Your yes matters BECAUSE your no matters. He doesn't want your slavery. He wants your companionship.
