"I've struggled with same-sex attraction my whole life. God can't forgive that."
How it sounds in your head: I hid it for 70 years. Never acted on it, but the thoughts, the desires—those never left. Romans 1 is clear. God gave me over to a depraved mind. I'm too twisted to be made right.
"And such WERE some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God."
-- 1 Corinthians 6:11Religious teaching that sexual orientation sins are uniquely damning, that 'giving over to a reprobate mind' means permanent rejection by God.
She's heard hellfire sermons specifically about this sin for decades, never hearing grace preached over it. The lifelong internal struggle feels like proof God hasn't 'fixed' her, which religion taught means she's rejected.
Paul lists sexually immoral, idolaters, adulterers, homosexuals, thieves—then says 'such WERE some of you' and declares them washed, sanctified, justified. No waiting period, no probation, immediate identity change the moment they believed.
I REFUSE the lie that my internal struggles are unforgivable. IT IS WRITTEN that what I WERE doesn't define what I AM in Christ. Romans 8:1 declares NO condemnation—not 'no condemnation except for sexual sins.' IT IS WRITTEN in Ephesians 1:4 that He chose me IN HIM before the foundation of the world, that I should be holy and blameless. My lifelong struggle doesn't disqualify His lifelong choice. I am Abraham's seed by covenant, heir of the BARAK blessing that covered sexual sinners like Judah and Rahab. I am WASHED. I am JUSTIFIED. Present tense.
The Father sees you as HOLY and BLAMELESS right now—not after you fix your thought life, but NOW, because of Jesus. He's not waiting for you to conquer this to accept you; He conquered it FOR you and handed you righteousness as a gift while you were still struggling.
