"I've stolen from my parents, from stores, from friends—I'm a thief at heart and can't be trusted."
How it sounds in your head: It started small—twenty bucks from mom's purse, something from Target, money from your friend's wallet. Now it's a pattern. You see something you want and you just take it. You've looked people in the eye and lied about where you got things. You're becoming a criminal, and your sticky fingers prove you're fundamentally dishonest.
"And Jesus said to him, 'Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise.'"
-- Luke 23:43Enemy: Using impulsivity and underdeveloped frontal lobe decision-making to prophesy permanent criminal identity from adolescent mistakes.
The stealing has happened multiple times—it's not one mistake, it's a pattern. You feel the rush, the guilt afterward, the fear of getting caught, and the proof that you can't control yourself around other people's stuff. Your own parents can't trust you, and they're right not to.
Rachel STOLE her father's household gods when they fled—literal theft of religious idols, then LIED about it to her father's face when he searched for them. She remained in covenant, became mother of Joseph and Benjamin, and the theft didn't void the BARAK blessing on her family.
I REFUSE the lie that stealing makes me a thief at heart. IT IS WRITTEN that Jesus promised Paradise to a criminal whose LAST ACT was theft—TODAY, not after rehabilitation. Rachel stole her father's gods and remained in covenant. My sticky fingers don't define my identity; Christ's blood does. I am the righteousness of God in Christ, not because my hands are clean but because HIS are. IT IS WRITTEN there is NO condemnation for those in Christ Jesus. The BARAK blessing covered DECEIVERS and THIEVES because covenant is about PROMISE, not performance. I am not a criminal becoming—I am a son learning to walk in the abundance that's already mine so I don't grasp for what isn't.
The Father sees a young man grasping for things because he doesn't know the storehouses are already his, taking from others because he hasn't tasted the blessing that commands itself on his life—and He's not calling the cops. He's running toward you with the ring of AUTHORITY, the robe of IDENTITY, ready to show you that sons don't steal because they already OWN IT ALL.
