"I've resisted God's will so long that He's given up on His plan for me."
How it sounds in your head: I knew what I was supposed to do and I chose my own way. He called me to ministry and I chose security. He wanted me to go and I stayed. His plan B for me is all that's left.
"For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable."
-- Romans 11:29Performance theology that makes God's calling contingent on your perfect obedience and timing, as if He's not sovereign over delays.
You can see the doors you didn't walk through and the years that passed, and it feels like those opportunities were once-only offers. The enemy uses your delays to convince you of disqualification.
Moses tried to fulfill God's plan in his own timing and strength—killed an Egyptian, had to flee, spent FORTY YEARS in the wilderness tending sheep, thinking he'd missed it. God showed up at the burning bush and said 'NOW I'm sending you'—same plan, God's timing, and Moses became the greatest deliverer in Israel's history.
I REFUSE the lie that I've missed God's plan through delays or resistance. IT IS WRITTEN that His gifts and calling are IRREVOCABLE—He doesn't take them back when I'm late. I will not believe my detours destroyed His purposes when He's sovereign over time itself. IT IS WRITTEN that He who began a good work in me WILL complete it. God doesn't have a plan B—He has one plan and infinite patience to bring it to pass. The BARAK blessing doesn't expire with age—Abraham received his son at 100. I am not disqualified, delayed, or diminished. I step into His purpose NOW.
The Father isn't pacing heaven frustrated that you took too long—He's been preparing you through every delay, and the plan He has for you is better now than it would have been if you'd rushed it in your own timing. Your detours are included in His itinerary.
