"I've learned things about church history and the Bible that mean I can't believe anymore."
How it sounds in your head: You discovered the Bible has different manuscript versions, or learned about church scandals and hypocrisy through history. How can you trust any of it now? Smart people don't just blindly believe.
"For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways, says the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts."
-- Isaiah 55:8-9Enemy: Using discovery of human imperfection to discredit divine perfection, intellectual pride disguised as honesty.
You found real information that nobody at church talks about, making you feel lied to. The silence around hard topics makes the whole thing feel like a cover-up.
Habakkuk openly challenged God: 'Why do you tolerate injustice? Why don't you answer?' God didn't punish him for the accusation. Instead, God gave him visions and said 'I'm doing something you wouldn't believe even if I told you'—instant dialogue, no rejection for raw honesty.
I REFUSE the lie that discovering human failure destroys divine truth. IT IS WRITTEN that God's ways are higher than human ways—His truth stands regardless of human imperfection. The scandals I've learned about prove humans are broken, which is exactly what the Bible already said. IT IS WRITTEN that Habakkuk questioned God directly and received revelation, not rejection. I'm under the BARAK blessing—it protected flawed people throughout history, and it protects me as I sort truth from tradition. The Father isn't afraid of what I've learned; He's revealing what's ACTUALLY true beneath the religious wrapping.
The Father is celebrating that you're digging past surface religion to find HIM. He's not defensive about what you've discovered—He's been waiting for you to get honest so He can show you what's really real.
