"I've blasphemed the Holy Spirit and there's no forgiveness for me now."
How it sounds in your head: You had a terrible thought about God or the Holy Spirit that you couldn't control. You've read Matthew 12:31 about the unforgivable sin and you're convinced you've crossed the line. Now you're terrified there's no way back.
"If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
-- 1 John 1:9Source: Enemy - using Scripture out of context to convince you that one thought has permanently separated you from God's love.
The thought was blasphemous, you feel immense guilt and spiritual distance, and the Bible clearly says blasphemy against the Spirit won't be forgiven - the fear is paralyzing.
Saul blasphemed Christ, persecuted the church violently, and murdered believers while thinking he served God - active, willful opposition to the Spirit's work. Yet he obtained MERCY and became Paul the apostle - instant forgiveness, instant apostleship, instant transformation.
I REFUSE the lie that I've committed the unforgivable sin. IT IS WRITTEN that if I confess my sins, God is faithful and just to forgive me from ALL unrighteousness - no exceptions, no fine print. The very fact that I fear I've crossed the line proves I haven't - a hardened heart doesn't tremble at blasphemy. I am under NO condemnation because I am in Christ Jesus. IT IS WRITTEN that nothing can separate me from the love of God - not height, depth, angels, demons, or intrusive thoughts. I stand in the BARAK blessing that covered Abraham when he lied about his wife twice - if God forgave willful deception, He forgives my unwanted thoughts. The blood of Jesus speaks better things than my worst moment. I am forgiven, cleansed, and held by grace that has no limits.
Your Father isn't tallying your worst thoughts waiting to disqualify you. He's running toward you with the truth that the blood covers what you can't control - you are forgiven before you even confess because the cross was enough.
