"I've been praying for direction for months. God must want me to just figure it out myself."
How it sounds in your head: I keep asking for clear direction and hearing nothing. Maybe God wants me to use common sense and stop waiting for a burning bush. Maybe all this 'waiting on God' is just an excuse for inaction. I need to make a move.
"My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me."
-- John 10:27Religion taught God is silent unless you're 'spiritual enough,' making normal life feel like you're on your own.
She doesn't hear audible voices or see visions. Other people share 'God told me' stories and she feels spiritually deaf. Silence feels like absence instead of preparation.
Gideon felt unqualified and unsure, so he asked God for a sign with a fleece—TWICE. God didn't rebuke him for needing confirmation; He graciously answered both times, giving clear direction despite Gideon's doubt.
I REFUSE the lie that God is silent and I'm on my own. IT IS WRITTEN: His sheep hear His voice, and I AM His sheep. My Father doesn't withhold guidance from His children—He gives wisdom GENEROUSLY. IT IS WRITTEN that He will instruct me and teach me in the way I should go; He will guide me with His eye. I don't need a burning bush—I have the indwelling Holy Spirit. Peace is my compass. I trust His leading NOW.
Your Father isn't making you guess—He's probably already answered through peace, circumstances, and wise people, but you're looking for fireworks when He's giving gentle whispers. He's MORE invested in your direction than you are.
