"I've been lied to by the church. I can't trust anything they taught me."
How it sounds in your head: They lied about the rapture. About hell. About sexuality. About women. About science. If they lied about that, what else is a lie? Maybe Jesus is a lie too. Maybe it's all control and manipulation. I feel like a fool for believing it for so long.
"But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you will abide in Him."
-- 1 John 2:27Enemy: transferring the failure of human institutions onto the character of God Himself.
You've discovered the church was wrong about things they claimed were non-negotiable. The cognitive dissonance is overwhelming. If the authorities you trusted were deceived or deceiving, how can you trust your own discernment about anything spiritual?
Samaritan woman with layers of religious deception—wrong mountain, wrong theology, five failed marriages, living in shame. Jesus bypassed ALL her religious confusion and spoke one word of knowledge. She instantly believed, left her water pot, and brought the whole city to Him. No theological course correction first—just encounter.
I REFUSE the lie that institutional failure equals divine deception. IT IS WRITTEN: 'The anointing abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you.' The church's lies don't change God's truth. The Spirit in me has been bearing witness all along, highlighting what was false, preserving what was real. IT IS WRITTEN: 'Let God be true but every man a liar' (Romans 3:4). I am Abraham's seed, blessed by COVENANT not by correct religious affiliation. The BARAK protected Jacob the deceiver—how much more does it hold me when I'VE been deceived? My Father never lied. He's been whispering truth through the noise.
Your Father is relieved you're finally seeing through the religious fog. He's been waiting to meet you outside the building, beyond the doctrines, in the wild uncontrollable space where He actually lives. The disillusionment with church is often the doorway to genuine encounter with Him.
