"I've been faithfully tithing for decades. Why isn't God blessing me financially like He promised?"
How it sounds in your head: Malachi 3 says test Me in tithing and I'll open windows of heaven. I've tithed faithfully for 50 years. Where's the blessing? My finances are still tight, retirement is stressful. Did I do something wrong?
"And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work."
-- 2 Corinthians 9:8Religious transactional teaching that tithing is vending machine formula guaranteeing financial blessing if you 'do it right.'
Church for decades presented tithing as contract: you give 10%, God gives overflow. He held up his end. God seems to have forgotten His. Other Christians who maybe didn't tithe are doing fine. Where's the promised return on investment?
God blessed Abraham and made him a blessing BEFORE Abraham gave, tithed, or did anything. The BARAK wasn't payment for Abraham's giving—it was covenant initiated by God's grace. God said 'I WILL bless you' as free gift, not transaction.
I REFUSE the lie that tithing is vending machine formula for blessing. IT IS WRITTEN that God makes all grace abound toward me—grace, not payment. Abraham was blessed BEFORE he gave anything—the BARAK was gift, not transaction. I am Abraham's seed through Christ, and the blessing of Abraham is mine by covenant, not by percentage given. IT IS WRITTEN that Christ redeemed me from the curse and I am heir to the blessing. Galatians 3:13-14 says the blessing comes through CHRIST, not through my giving performance. I am blessed not because I tithed right, but because I'm IN CHRIST. God is not a slot machine; He's a generous Father who gives because it's His nature. My provision flows from His goodness, not my giving track record.
The Father is saying: 'Son, I'm not an accountant calculating your giving percentage against expected blessing returns. I'm your Father. The blessing isn't payment—it's inheritance. Abraham was blessed because I loved him, not because he earned it. You're blessed the same way. Stop measuring My generosity by your giving. Start receiving based on My nature.'
