Naaman was a proud, angry Syrian commander with leprosy (incurable, flesh literally hardening and dying). He was furious when the prophet told him to dip in the Jordan, insulted, ready to leave in rage. Seven dips later, 'his flesh was RESTORED like the flesh of a little CHILD, and he was clean' (v.14)—instant transformation from hardened, diseased, angry man to clean, childlike flesh.
I REFUSE the lie that bitterness is my permanent personality. IT IS WRITTEN that God gives me a NEW HEART and removes the heart of stone—not gradual therapy, but supernatural exchange. Decades of cynicism do not override covenant transformation. IT IS WRITTEN in 2 Corinthians 5:17 that I am a NEW CREATION; old things PASSED AWAY, all things BECAME NEW—not 'becoming,' but BECAME, past tense, finished work. Naaman's leprosy-hardened flesh became like a child's in one moment. My stone heart becomes flesh in one encounter with His presence. The BARAK blessing of Abraham operated despite character flaws in the patriarchs. I receive the blessing of a renewed mind and tender heart by grace, not by decades of working on myself. Age is irrelevant to the God who makes all things new.
The Father doesn't send you to anger management classes and hope for incremental improvement—He performs heart surgery, removing stone and giving flesh, making you tender again regardless of how many decades you've been hard. Like Naaman whose diseased, hardened flesh became a child's in minutes, your hardened heart becomes soft in one divine touch.
