"It's too late—we've been broken too long and missed the window for restoration."
How it sounds in your head: If we'd fixed this in year one or two, maybe. But it's been five years of the same patterns, the same fights, the same distance. We've calcified in our dysfunction and the window for change has closed.
"Do not remember the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a NEW thing, now it shall spring forth; shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert."
-- Isaiah 43:18-19Enemy whispers that time limits God's power and that delayed breakthrough equals denied breakthrough.
The length of time in pain makes hope feel naive, and every anniversary of dysfunction feels like another nail in the coffin. The longer it goes, the more permanent it seems.
He'd been an invalid for THIRTY-EIGHT YEARS—longer than many marriages even last—waiting by the pool with no hope. Jesus asked if he wanted to be healed, spoke one command, and IMMEDIATELY he was made well. Decades of dysfunction ended in one moment.
I REFUSE the lie that time has closed the window of restoration. IT IS WRITTEN that God will do a NEW thing and NOW it shall spring forth—not eventually, not after we deserve it, but NOW. I am covered by the BARAK blessing that has no expiration date and no statute of limitations. IT IS WRITTEN that He makes roads in wilderness and rivers in deserts—the longer the drought, the more dramatic His breakthrough. I declare that thirty-eight years of paralysis bowed to one word from Jesus, and my five years, ten years, or twenty years are not too long. There is no calcification beyond His resurrection power. TODAY is the day of salvation and NOW is the time of favor.
The Father hasn't been watching the clock, calculating when your marriage passes the point of no return—He's been preparing the NOW breakthrough that makes up for every lost year. He's not measuring time; He's ready to spring forth NEW regardless of how long you've been broken.
