"It's too late to reconcile with your estranged children. The damage is permanent."
How it sounds in your head: Your son hasn't called in five years. Your daughter changed her number. You think the divorce destroyed them, your anger scarred them, your absence can't be undone. They're adults now with their own wounds. The ship has sailed on being the father you should have been.
"And He said to me, 'Son of man, can these bones live?' So I answered, 'O Lord GOD, You know.'"
-- Ezekiel 37:3Source: Enemy's lie that relational death is irreversible; hopelessness masked as 'accepting reality.'
You've reached out and been ignored. Holidays pass without contact. Grandkids are growing up without knowing you. Friends tell you to 'give them space,' which feels like giving up. The years of silence feel like a verdict.
Jacob stole Esau's blessing through deception, fled for his life, stayed gone for twenty years. Esau had every right to permanent hatred. When they met, Esau RAN to Jacob, fell on his neck, kissed him, and they both WEPT. Instant reconciliation after two decades.
I REFUSE the lie that it's too late for reconciliation. IT IS WRITTEN that God can make dry bones LIVE (Ezekiel 37). What looks dead in my family is one word from God away from resurrection. IT IS WRITTEN that nothing is impossible with God (Luke 1:37). He reconciled Jacob and Esau after twenty years of hatred. He can reconcile me and my children RIGHT NOW. The BARAK blessing includes restoration of family. I am Abraham's seed, and God is a redeemer of relationships, not just souls.
The Father isn't giving up on your family. He's the One who turns the hearts of fathers to children and children to fathers (Malachi 4:6). The silence you're experiencing isn't the final word. His word is final, and He speaks LIFE over dead things.
