"It's too late for blessing—I wasted my financially productive years on the wrong priorities."
How it sounds in your head: I look back and see where I spent time, energy, money—on things that didn't matter, didn't last. If I could go back and do it differently... but I can't. Those years are gone. I'm in my eighties now. The season for building wealth is over. The blessing I could have had passed me by because I didn't recognize it when I had the chance.
"The righteous shall flourish like a palm tree, he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon. Those who are planted in the house of the Lord shall flourish in the courts of our God. They shall still bear fruit in old age; they shall be fresh and flourishing."
-- Psalm 92:12-14Enemy + world's timeline that says blessing has an expiration date tied to productivity years, making older adults believe opportunity has permanently closed.
She can calculate the decades she had that are now gone, see the 'if onlys' clearly, and recognize she can't reverse time. The world measures financial opportunity by earning years, and hers are objectively over, making it feel mathematically impossible for breakthrough.
He received the promise of blessing at age 75, but didn't receive the son until age 100—a quarter century of waiting. Yet during that time, including in his old age, when he went to Egypt because of famine, he left wealthier than he entered despite having lied about his wife, proving blessing isn't limited by age or timing.
I REFUSE the lie that I'm too old for blessing and wasted my productive years. IT IS WRITTEN in Psalm 92:14 that I shall STILL bear fruit in OLD AGE—I shall be FRESH and FLOURISHING. Not 'should have been' but SHALL BE, now, in my eighties. Abraham received his greatest miracle at 100. God doesn't need my 'productive years' to create wealth—He just needs covenant, and I have that through Christ's blood. IT IS WRITTEN in Joel 2:25 that God restores YEARS—He doesn't need decades to rebuild. The BARAK blessing is mine as Abraham's seed. I am the righteousness of God in Christ, planted in His house, and I WILL flourish now, in this season, in old age, because my Father says so.
Your Father doesn't calculate your remaining worth by subtracting your age from average life expectancy. He looks at you and sees someone in whom He still delights to show His goodness, and His calendar for blessing says 'Today, if you will hear His voice.'
